Universities in Denpasar, Indonesia

Denpasar, the capital city of Bali and its most prominent gateway city, is considered the cultural, commercial, and educational hub of Bali. The tourism sector supports a massive chunk of the economy, hence Denpasar aptly has a well-developed infrastructure supported by beautiful tourist destinations.

In terms of the education sector, Denpasar has seen a rise in the popularity of its universities among international students in the last few decades. This has been made possible by the efforts of the government, which eventually want Denpasar to be an educational hub for international students.

Udayana University (UNUD)

Founded in 1962, it was previously part of Airlangga University located in Surabaya. It is one of the most reputed universities in eastern Indonesia. Recently the Ministry of Education ranked it among the 50 most “Promising Universities of Indonesia”, and it also ranks #501-550 in the Asian University Ranking.

UNUD offers 48 Undergraduate, 26 Master’s, 13 Doctoral and 8 Professional Programs in subjects like Law, Economics, Agricultural Technology, Marine Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Natural Sciences to name a few.

With a Student to Faculty Ratio of 15, it houses more than 2000 students yearly. In terms of facilities, UNUD has necessary public facilities which are helpful for the academic community.

Indonesian Institute of the Arts, Denpasar (ISI Denpasar)

Established in 2003, the Ministry of National Education of Indonesia is directly responsible for the proper functioning of this university.

ISI Denpasar is considered the best university for students interested in the Arts and Humanities programs. In terms of Performing Arts, it is ranked #51-100 by the QS WUR Ranking By Subject. In terms of facilities, ISI Denpasar is equipped with dormitories, a library and different sports facilities. ISI Denpasar also provides scholarships to exceptional students.

Eligibility Criteria and Documentation

The applicants must apply for a visa and a subsequent Study Permit before applying to any Indonesian University.

Other Documents are as follows: Admission form, Photocopy of certificate of current enrollment, Certification of Finance, Colour photocopy of valid passport with 12-month validity, Health certificate, Photographs.
