Universities in Jinju, South Korea

Jinju hosts many public and private universities, including several community colleges. The three top-class Universities in Jinju are the Chinju National University of Education, the Gyeongsang National University, and the International University of Korea.

The Chinju National University of Education is the oldest of the three Universities established in 1940. Gyeongsang National University was founded in 1948, and the International University of Korea, formed in 1978, is the youngest.

Gyeongsang National University is owned by the government of South Korea and managed by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea.  Gyeongsang National University is also one of the ten founding Korean National Universities. 

The Chinju National University of Education is also a publicly owned national university of education, offering students from Korea and abroad many education degree courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. 

Why Study in Jinju?

The doors of Gyeongsang National University are open to students from abroad wishing to study different degree courses. Students can apply for degree programmes in their College of Agriculture and Life Science, College of Law, College of education, and College of Veterinary.

The Chinju National University of Education offers studies specific to teaching and academic studies. For academic studies, this university specialises in many public-school teaching departments. These departments include Fine Arts Education, Ethics Education, Computer Education, Mathematics Education, Korean Education, Physical Education, English Education, Science Education, Practical Arts Education, Elementary Education, Social Studies Education, and Music Education.

Eligibility Criteria

You can gain admission into degree study programmes at Universities in Jinju, South Korea, twice a year, typically in Spring and Fall.  However, you are expected to gain admission into a course at least four months before starting a semester.  

The application and admission procedure for each of the three Universities in Jinju are determined and specific to the respective universities. An application form should be properly filled out and submitted upon completion with the necessary attachments. 

These attachments may include proof of payment of application fees, proof of ability to pay tuition fees, evidence of local foreign student insurance, a copy of a bank statement showing proof of money to cover study and living expenses. 

International students also have to submit copies of their international passport, transcripts, school leaving certificate, Bachelor’s degree (for a Master’s degree study course) or Master’s degree (for a Doctorate study programme).
